On July 12, Heather and Jeremy Reynolds claimed first and second place at the 2025 Western States Trail Ride—aka, The Tevis Cup. Their win reflects years of hard work, grit, and love for the sport. Both started young, guided by mentors who fueled their passion for endurance—a discipline that demands mental and physical toughness from horse and rider alike. Their training is intense: daily 25–30 mile rides, 5-mile runs several times a week, and Jeremy often running up to 20 miles alongside his horse during races. Their 13- and 15-year-old horses are conditioned on rugged trails, and Heather keeps them going strong by managing their nutrition, salt, and minerals. For the Reynolds, success is about the deep bond with their horses and the joy of seeing them willing and happy to perform. “There are no shortcuts," Heather said. “The magic is in putting in the hard work and loving what you do.” Heather and Jeremy Reynolds with their horses."There are no shortcuts," Heather said.
